Vekko of the Crimson Nebula

No one knows exactly how Vekko travels between worlds. He simply appears now and then with a new story and a sparkle in his eyes that suggests he has seen something extraordinary. Among the monsters, it is said that every journey through the Crimson Nebula changes a traveler just a little—and Vekko would not have it any other way. He loves to collect balloons along the way and loves his new heart shaped one.

Artist’s Note

Each Floppy Ear Pottery monster begins as hand-rolled slabs of stoneware clay that is cut, shaped, textured, and assembled entirely by hand. I don't use molds, allowing the creature’s expression and personality to develop naturally I build it. Subtle variations in form, surface, and glaze are part of what makes this sculpture truly one of a kind.
